1 in 6 Lib Dem MPs now accused of overspending

ANOTHER Lib Dem was accused of overspending during the general election yesterday, just one day after the party’s deputy leader was slammed for splurging over £2,000 on undelivered leaflets.

Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine was forced to defend her record after questions were asked over her spending in a tightly fought contest for an SNP seat in June’s general election.

Reports claim that Ms Jardine removed £3,000 from her total expenses figure which she put down as “national spending” because it promoted the Libs Dems rather than herself as a candidate.
