TURKISH police arrested one of the parliament’s deputy speakers yesterday and dragged her into court to testify in a case where she is accused of ties to supposed terrorists.
Pervin Buldan, a senior MP from the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP), later told reporters waiting outside the court that she had been released after telling officials that there was no way she would testify in the “politically motivated” case.
“I told them that this situation was unlawful,” she said.
