Tories to appeal as court demands full Brexit vote
Judges tell May she has no royal right to take Britain out of EU

MINISTERS will be appealing against a High Court ruling that MPs must vote on whether to invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty to trigger Brexit, it was announced yesterday.

Campaigners who took the government to court celebrated victory after three judges ruled that Theresa May does not have a royal prerogative to start the two-year process to leave the EU without prior authority from Parliament.

International Development Secretary Liam Fox responded in the Commons that the government would appeal in the Supreme Court to try to overturn the High Court case brought by investment fund manager Gina Miller.
