Yemen - UN: new government an ‘obstacle’ to peace deal
THE UN’s Yemen envoy has claimed a new government formed in the capital Sanaa on Tuesday is an “obstacle” to peace.
The new National Salvation Government was sworn in by agreement of the Houthi rebel movement and former president Ali Abdullah Saleh’s General People’s Congress party.
It replaced the Supreme Political Council that was appointed in August, drawing criticism from Western nations backing the Saudi-led invasion.
