Derby fallout leaves dark clouds hanging over Ibrox

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has hit out at the Scottish media for being far too negative over the manner in which the Ibrox side lost against rivals Celtic and the performances of some “marquee” players.

Hours later, it was announced that Joey Barton had been banished from the Murray Park training ground for a bust-up with Andy Halliday and Warburton, following some “inappropriate” comments being exchanged.

It seems that the loss to Celtic has widened the cracks within the Rangers dressing room amid the realisation that their first season in the top flight won’t be as comfortable as many at Rangers or linked to the club believed.
