HARRY KANE left White Hart Lane with the match ball on Saturday after putting three past Baggies keeper Ben Foster.

But the 4-0 scoreline was an unfair reflection on Foster’s performance — he was phenomenal denying Spurs on many occasions — but nothing was stopping Kane topping off a special week in which he became a father for the first time.

Kane highly commended his teammates after a successive run of games and an emphatic win. “We’ve just been patient, creating more chances, we’ve been fantastic, the full-backs have a great delivery into the box.”

Tottenham are now closing the gap on rivals Chelsea at the top of the league and Kane emphasised the importance of consistency: “That’s the aim we’ve got to keep doing what were doing and capitalise.”

The forward also discussed the hype surrounding players moving to China for extortionate sums of money: “I don’t think its that much of an issue, the ambition to stay and win Premier League trophies and play in the best league in the world, that drives more players than most.”

Jan Vertonghen was forced to leave the field through injury, which could be a real blow for Spurs. Vertonghen’s centre-back partner Toby Alderweireld was adamant that there are others that can play in his place if needed.
