SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon wore her finest rose-tinted spectacles when arguing in favour of EU membership in London yesterday.

That’s why she saw a European Union very different from the one experienced by millions of people across the continent, from Galway to Athens and back across to Lisbon.

In her enthusiasm for an “overwhelming victory” in the referendum on June 23, she claimed that being part of the EU is about “solidarity, social protection and mutual support.”
