McDonnell ‘could weep’ at state of party infighting
SHADOW chancellor John McDonnell could “weep” at Labour’s infighting over antisemitism claims that have tarnished its reputation in the Jewish community, he said yesterday.
But Mr McDonnell insisted that he did not want to “prejudge” a further internal inquiry into Ken Livingstone, who he described as an “old ally.”
Mr Livingstone has been accused of anti-semitism after remarks he made defending Labour MP Naz Shah, who had been suspended after sharing Facebook posts suggesting Israel be relocated to the United States.
