GEORGE OSBORNE was accused of leaving Britain’s youth on the scrapheap by failing to address climate change yesterday.

Despite pledging an extra £700 million for flood defences — funded by a higher tax on insurance — the Chancellor’s Budget neglected to promise tackling climate change.

Shadow chancellor John McDonnell’s sustainable economics adviser Alan Simpson told the Star: “This Budget is not a budget for the next generation.
