Southern freeze is on: judges uphold Aslef’s right to strike
GOVIA THAMESLINK RAILWAY, the owner of “failed franchise” Southern Rail, lost its appeal yesterday against a judge’s refusal to grant a strike-blocking injunction.
The decision by three Court of Appeal judges cleared the way for train drivers’ union Aslef to go ahead with a series of strikes starting today.
Govia had argued that strikes would unlawfully restrict freedom of movement under EU law.
