Schools’ reputations ‘rest on shoulders of four-year-old babes’
THE burden of schools’ reputations is “falling onto the shoulders of four-year-olds,” said a damning report on the government’s new testing system published yesterday.
Independent research into “baseline assessment,” the new system which tests kids on their entry to primary school, found that just 8 per cent of teachers thought it was fair and accurate.
Similarly, only 7 per cent believed it was a good way to assess school performance.
