Fighting rages in key Aleppo area

SYRIAN troops clashed with al-Qaida militants in south-west Aleppo yesterday as they fought to regain the city’s key military academies complex.

Troops backed by Lebanese Hezbollah guerillas stormed the Airforce Technical Base at the heart of the hotly contested insurgent corridor into the city.
