Westwood on bursary protest

BRITISH fashion designer Vivienne Westwood will be joining student nurses this Saturday in a London march against Tory plans to cut NHS bursaries.

The Bursary or Bust campaign confirmed the 75-year-old fashion rebel as one of its rally’s speakers, alongside public-sector union Unison assistant general secretary Roger McKenzie and NUS president Malia Bouattia.

The protest follows government plans to cut healthcare students’ loans at an estimated cost of 2,000 fewer nursing graduates a year.
