Lib Dem embroiled in expenses row

LIB DEM deputy leader Jo Swinson came under fire from the SNP yesterday after it came to light that she wasted over £2,000 on undelivered leaflets.

Ms Swinson’s campaign spending came just £210 under the limit but reports say this was only after £7,000 was removed from the total.

The SNP says the deputy leader faces “serious questions” over the missing funds. Ms Swinson — who won back East Dunbartonshire from the SNP in June’s general election — submitted an official return showing she spent £14,409 during the campaign.
