Iraq: Recaptured city slow to recover due to Isis traps

UNITED NATIONS development official Lise Grande said in Baghdad yesterday that bombs planted by Isis are hindering the return of displaced families to the Iraqi city of Ramadi nearly two months since pro-government forces liberated it.

She said that bombs have killed eight people in the past two weeks, either as they surveyed their homes or attempted to disable devices.

“People who have been displaced want to return home as quickly as possible,” Ms Grande stressed.
