Libya: UN chief hits out at US block of Fayyad
UN CHIEF Antonio Guterres expressed veiled criticism of the US yesterday after it blocked a former Palestinian prime minister from becoming special envoy to Libya.
The US stopped Salam Fayyad’s appointment on Friday, claiming it was acting in support of its ally Israel.
Speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai, secretary-general Mr Guterres said Mr Fayyad was “the right person for the right job at the right moment.
