Machar rallies his opposition forces for a return to civil war

SOUTH SUDANESE opposition leader Riek Machar called for a return to civil war in the five-year-old failed state on Saturday.

Mr Machar, former leader of the opposition faction of the ruling Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement who has fled to Sudan, called for armed resistance against President Salva Kiir’s government in Juba.

Mr Machar and loyalists who joined his split from the SPLM-IO issued a statement from Khartoum calling on “the international community to declare the regime in Juba a rogue government.”
