CLAIMS that train drivers’ union Aslef has called off its industrial action ballot at Southern Rail are “deliberately misleading,” the union said yesterday.
Passenger services director Angie Doll made the claim this weekend, saying it gave the firm the opportunity to sit down with union officials to resolve their dispute.
But Aslef general secretary Mick Whelan said that the ballot was still going ahead, with fresh papers being issued after a “technical hitch.”
