Left veteran to campaign for EU exit
VETERAN left MP Ronnie Campbell said yesterday he will campaign for Britain to leave the European Union, writes Luke James.

Mr Campbell was one of 17 Labour MPs who refused last month to sign a letter backing the Labour Stronger In campaign.

Now he has declared his support for the rival Labour Leave campaign, branding the European Union a “capitalist shop.”

He told the Star he was “not a little Englander.

“Labour was always anti-Europe because it was seen as a capitalist organisation that was there for the bosses and big business. Still is as far as I’m concerned.

“We’re being thrown a few crumbs and getting on our knees.”
