THE National Union of Teachers affirmed transgender members’ “right to self-identify” after a conference debate yesterday.
Delegates endorsed a motion supporting “the right of our transgender members to not be harassed by their own peers within the union.”
Dover delegate Chay Brown, moving the motion, said: “As a transgender teacher, knowing I have the support of the NUT is extremely important.
