Article 50 letter will be posted on March 29

ARTICLE 50 will be invoked next Wednesday to trigger EU withdrawal talks, Downing Street confirmed yesterday.

Prime Minister Theresa May’s letter officially notifying the European Council of Britain’s intention to quit will start a two-year negotiation process expected to lead to Britain leaving the EU on March 29 2019.

She will address MPs after Prime Minister’s Questions in a statement to the Commons on March 29.
