Aberdeen TUC fight university language cuts
MODERN languages cuts at University of Aberdeen are “an act of sociocultural vandalism,” say trade unionists.
Plans to axe the courses have faced widespread criticism from students and the 17,000 people who signed a petition in opposition, to the consulates of France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
UCU members at the university, fighting for the 30 jobs at stake, announced plans to begin strike action on March 12.
