Amazon workers in Coventry set to continue historic strike action
Members of the GMB union during a rally outside the Amazon fulfilment centre in Coventry as Amazon workers are staging their first ever strike in the UK in a dispute over pay, January 25, 2023

WORKERS at an Amazon warehouse in Coventry are set to continue their historic strike action tomorrow after accusing the online retail giant of engaging in desperate tactics.

About 700 staff at the West Midlands fulfilment centre will also down tools on Friday as they step up their fight against the mega-rich US-owned company’s “derisory” 50p pay rise, their union, GMB said.

Some 16 days of walkouts have now been called in the five-month dispute – the first to see strikes hit Amazon sites in Britain.
