PICKETS were in action outside Kirklees College sites in Huddersfield and Dewsbury today after lecturers overwhelmingly rejected a derisory 1 per cent pay increase.

Members of the University & College Union (UCU) voted by 94 per cent for strike action; inflation still stands at more than 10 per cent.

They were joined on the picket line by members of Huddersfield TUC.
