Lecturers at London college set to strike

LECTURERS at a London college have voted overwhelmingly to strike over pay.

Members of the University & College Union (UCU) at Barnet & Southgate College voted 96 per cent in favour of action in a 67 per cent turnout — well above government-imposed minimums.

UCU said the college had imposed a 2.5 per cent pay increase while making a surplus of over £2.6 million in 2022 and having more than £43m in reserves.
