STRIKING university lecturers marched and rallied in Manchester today as part of continuing national action over pay, workload, casualisation, inequality and pensions.
Members of the University and College Union (UCU) at 67 universities have been on strike for three days this week and are balloting on strike action for the rest of the year.
At the Manchester rally, Salford Labour MP Rebecca Long Bailey said: “The government should be bolstering the economy, but right at the centre of that are our universities and other educational institutions.
