THE Scottish government was accused of “vandalism” today after funding for street-cleaning services was revealed to have plummeted by 39 per cent in 10 years.

The cut amounts to more than £322 million, according to Scottish Labour’s analysis.

In Glasgow, this funding was cut drastically after the SNP took over the council in 2017, with spending in the city falling by 35 per cent in just four years – more than twice as fast as the national average, according to local data.
