Staff at Bradford College to strike over low pay and working conditions
Members and supporters of the University and College Union (UCU) Scotland during a rally at Buchanan Street in Glasgow, February 2023

BRADFORD COLLEGE staff will hold the first of 14 days of strikes today in a dispute over falling take-home pay and unmanageable workloads, the University and College Union (UCU) has confirmed.

The intermittent walkouts, triggered after a whopping 90 per cent of union members backed action on a 58 per cent turnout, could disrupt GCSE examinations over the next two months.

Bosses must improve on a massively below-inflation wage award worth just 3.2 per cent for many lecturers to avoid student learning taking a hit, the UCU said.
