STUDENT occupiers in south-west England claim that they are being ill-treated and others in London report being “illegally evicted” as protests in support of striking staff continue to hit universities nationwide. 

Despite assurances from bosses, occupiers at the University of Bristol tweeted on Saturday that they continue to be subject to “intimidatory behaviour” from security, which includes the “inappropriate filming” of a female protester.

A similar demonstration at Soas, University of London, ended late last week when protesters said that they had been thrown out by a team of more than 40 private bailiffs, which bosses had apparently hired without a court order.
