Teachers to launch three day strike over pay

TEACHING staff at a Hampshire college are set today to launch more strike action over plummeting take-home pay.

The University and College Union (UCU) said workers at Sparsholt College near Winchester will walk out for three days after bosses refused to make a “realistic” pay offer amid double-digit inflation.

The institution has offered a consolidated wage boost of only £850, alongside one-off payments totalling just £450, despite having more than £7 million in the bank, according to the union.
