Thousands of UCU and PCS workers unite in Scotland
John Jamieson, NEC member and Vice-Chair of the PCS Scotland speaks at a rally in Edinburgh

THOUSANDS of striking UCU and PCS workers rallied in Glasgow and Edinburgh today, united as they fight for better pay, pensions and conditions.

Striking workers joined the lunchtime rallies to demonstrate their determination to secure better offers from both government and universities, and were joined in solidarity by members of Unite, Unison and CWU.

Tens of thousands of PCS workers, across a wide range of government agencies, are in dispute with the British government over the long-term erosion of pay and pensions, job cuts, and redundancy terms.
