BMA staff to strike again over pay
British Medical Association (BMA) staff on the GMB picket line outside BMA House, in Tavistock Square, London, March 27, 2026

STAFF working for the British Medical Association (BMA) will take industrial action over pay in their second strike this month.

GMB union said today that 450 workers will walk out on Saturday in protest against “a sub-inflationary” pay offer of 2.75 per cent, lower than the 3.5 per cent offered to resident doctors.

Regional officer Gavin Davies said: “Despite four days of strike action involving hundreds of staff, the BMA still refuses to listen.

“The BMA themselves argue that years of sub-inflationary pay offers are unacceptable, but it seems that only applies to resident doctors and not their own staff.”

BMA chief executive officer Rachel Podolak said: “We recognise the strength of feeling among our staff and fully respect their right to take part in strike action.

“We are confident that the overall package of pay and benefits for staff at the BMA is highly competitive with our comparator organisations.”

The BMA was contacted for comment.
