Bolivian police arrest right-wing coup leader
Luis Fernando Camacho gives a thumbs up outside the presidential palace in La Paz, Bolivia, after Evo Morales announced his resignation to the presidency on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019.

BOLIVIAN police arrested right-wing opposition leader Luis Fernando Camacho on Wednesday as part of a probe into the US-backed 2019 coup.

Mr Camacho, who is governor of the Santa Cruz region, is accused of being one of the leaders of the plot to oust Evo Morales, the Chief Prosecutor’s Office said.

His allies took to the streets in protest, blocking roads in Santa Cruz, including the main motorway out of the region.
