Britain's Communists to celebrate 100 years of a fighting party
Communist Party chair LIZ PAYNE and centenary project officer PHIL KATZ show ‘it's all systems go’ to mark the CP centenary

COMMUNIST CENTENARY — the weekend of July 31 and August 1 2020 marks 100 years since the historic gathering of delegates at the Canon Street Hotel in London to form a united Communist Party.

Plans to celebrate the centenary are being stepped up as we near the date, with the organising team having to take into account radically changed circumstances resulting from the lockdown.

The recent growth of the CP, with a rapid rise in membership in English districts and in Scotland and Wales and the formation of new branches, means more is expected of the celebration and more can be done.
