Campaigners come together at Palestine protest in Manchester

CAMPAIGN group Jewish Action for Palestine raised its banner at the weekend against attempts by zionists to cause disruption at protests for Palestine in Manchester.

Greater Manchester Friends of Palestine (GMFP) brings together a dozen Palestine support groups in the district, and Manchester’s Jewish Action for Palestine supporters took centre stage at GMFP’s rally on Saturday.

Recent weekly protest marches and rallies have faced disruption by zionists who have blocked the road or confronted protesters.

John Nicholson of GMFP said: “We have always had their support, and this week they raised their banner at the front of the rally after a zionist heckler tried the disrupt speakers and provoke a confrontation.”

Manchester has Britain’s largest Jewish population outside London.

Palestine Solidarity Campaign groups across the country are contacting general election candidates to ask, if elected, whether they will support demands for an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
