THE Communist Party of Britain concluded its 57th Congress today with a call to intensify the strike wave, resist the drive to war and build the party in communities throughout the land.
Over 100 delegates representing a growing membership of over 1,300 met for two days at Croydon’s Ruskin House, debating resolutions on the Palestine crisis, the new cold war, union organising and many other topics.
Congress elected an executive committee of 35 comprising the following cadres: Nisar Ahmed, Georgina Andrews, Mollie Brown, Ron Brown, Sean Cannon, Judith Cazorla Rodenas, Ben Chacko, Andy Chaffer, Tony Conway, James Crossley, Mary Davis, Lorraine Douglas, Nigel Flanagan, Alex Gordon, Rob Griffiths, Richard Hebbert, Victoria Holmes, Johnnie Hunter, Hugh Kirkbride, Mark Jones, Gawain Little, Ben Lunn, Stephanie Martin, Roger McKenzie, David Morgan, Kevan Nelson, Helen O’Connor, Christiane Ohsan, Liz Payne, Ruth Pitman, Dan Ross, Carol Stavris, Keith Stoddart, Ruth Styles and Jonathan White.
