JEREMY CORBYN said today that Theresa May’s frantic negotiations to hold her Cabinet together were a greater risk to jobs than failing to secure a Brexit deal.
During Prime Minister’s Questions, the Labour leader referred to reports that Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson had dismissed concerns of big businesses by using an “Anglo-Saxon” expletive.
Business Secretary Greg Clark had then rebuked the comment, Mr Corbyn said, asking Ms May which view she agreed with.
She replied that the Tories had “always been the party that will back business.”
Tory MPs jeered when he reported that Honda worker Andrew, from Swindon, wrote to him about his post-Brexit job worries.
They stopped as Mr Corbyn said: “I would not laugh if I were you. These are real people with real jobs and real concerns.
“Andrew writes: ‘I have seen nothing that gives me confidence that the government is going to deliver a trade agreement allowing the seamless flow of goods through Europe’s borders. My job along with many others in manufacturing, suppliers and the supply chain hang on this’.”
