Criminal barristers in England and Wales vote for all-out strike
Tory Ministers accused of doing nothing to resolve industrial disputes
Criminal defence barristers gather outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London to support the ongoing Criminal Bar Association (CBA) action over Government set fees for legal aid advocacy work, in July 2022

TORY ministers are doing absolutely nothing to resolve industrial disputes amid Britain’s summer of discontent, Labour charged today.

The accusation came after it emerged that Justice Secretary Dominic Raab is taking a holiday despite criminal barristers announcing they had voted to hold all-out strike action today.

Criminal Bar Association (CBA) members have been walking out on alternate weeks in a dispute over jobs and pay for months, but an indefinite uninterrupted strike will now hit courts in England and Wales from September 5.
