Stephen Donziger – the lawyer in jail for exposing an oil giant
When Steven Donziger won from Chevron £7 billion in damages for Ecuadorians affected by the oil giant's deadly pollution in the country, he became a marked man. What followed is a horrific story of the US legal system's collusion with the multinational. TAYLOR DORRELL reports

THE tall, grey-haired, 60-year-old attorney Steven Donziger gave a final hug to his son on Wednesday October 27 2021. 

Donziger had spent over two years confined in his Manhattan apartment, restricted by a judge-ordered GPS ankle bracelet. 

And now his first destination, excluding court, of course, would be the nearest jail, to which Donziger, a supposed flight risk, drove himself.
