The spirit of resistance is alive in Scotland this May Day

AS SCOTLAND gears up for its annual round of May Day marches and rallies, a growing groundswell of confidence underpins the general mood of workers. 

Despite continued attacks on working people by the British government and employers, a spirit of resilience engendered during Covid, both in workplaces and communities, has sprung to the fore to take on the cost-of-living crisis in terms of both food and fuel costs and wages. 

Industrial militancy has seen victories across the board, both in the private and public sector, and seen union membership rise in response.
