THE FA suspended Wasim Haq from its council today after he said on social media that Adolf Hitler would be proud of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Haq, who joined the FA council in 2019 as a BAME football communities representative, was removed from a similar role on the Lawn Tennis Association Council on Monday.

Haq deleted the post and apologised on the social media site X for his comments in relation to Israel’s ongoing military action in Gaza.
