Goldsmith staff protest against wave of redundancies

ANGRY Goldsmiths staff gathered today to protest against a wave of redundancies handed down by the “brutal” university as part of cost-cutting measures.

University staff and supporters from across London rallied to voice their anger over 16 redundancies issued last week to academic and administrative staff.

The staff, members of UCU and Unison, have been told that their jobs are to be made redundant as the university claims that it needs to save £9 million by 2023 to put it back “on a sustainable footing.”
