CALLS to provide key worker homes discounts for teachers will be heard at NASUWT conference this weekend.

Delegates at the NASUWT conference in Glasgow are to debate a motion to campaign for discount schemes for rental and first-time buyers of at least 30 per cent below market prices in high-cost areas.

Increases in rents and mortgage costs have made it increasingly difficult to recruit and retain teachers in some parts of the country, an issue particularly affecting new and younger teachers, the motion highlights.
