Care workers protest outside Humza Yousaf's office against SNP's National Care Service proposals
CARE workers marched to the office of Scotland’s Health Secretary and SNP leadership contender Humza Yousaf yesterday to demand that the National Care Service (NCS) proposals are scrapped.
Unite care workers from across Scotland descended on Mr Yousaf’s Glasgow Pollok constituency, rallying at Govan Cross, to demand that the Scottish government drop controversial NCS plans.
It was described at its launch by outgoing First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as “arguably the most significant public service reform since the creation of the National Health Service.”
