Kensington MP says continued use of wooden and flammable cladding on homes makes her ‘blood run cold’
Kensington MP Emma Dent Coad

KENSINGTON MP Emma Dent Coad has criticised the use of wooden and flammable cladding on residential buildings that were recently damaged by fires.

At the Fire Brigades Union’s (FBU) Grenfell Never Again fringe at Labour conference on Monday night, she said that it made her “blood run cold” to know that wooden decking and laminated timber were used on buildings that had caught fire.

Earlier this month, a woman was rescued by firefighters as flames ripped up the side of a residential block in Clapton, east London, which was covered in wooden panels.
