Lecturers and students accuse government of giving contradictory advice to universities

MINISTERS were accused today of giving contradictory advice to universities and colleges about moving their teaching online.

The University and College Union (UCU) and the National Union of Students (NUS) said the government’s “failure to instruct universities to move to online learning where possible would put public health at risk.”

They called on Westminster to revise its guidance and for tuition to be moved online immediately wherever possible during the current lockdown.
