Morales vows to continue fight after triumphant return to Bolivia
Bolivia's former President Evo Morales (centre left) is greeted by supporters in Villazon, Bolivia after he walked across a border bridge from Argentina

FORMER Bolivian president Evo Morales vowed to continue the fight after returning to his homeland on Monday, almost a year since a US-backed coup forced him from power and into exile.

He told the thousands of flag-waving supporters that packed the streets of the southern city of Villazon: “As long as capitalism and imperialism exist, the fight goes on.”

Mr Morales was escorted to the border by Argentinian President Alberto Fernandez, who had granted Mr Morales asylum after his overthrow last year.
