Mourinho heaps praise on Jones

Could Manchester United supporters finally be seeing the best of Phil Jones?

Alex Ferguson, the manager who brought him to Old Trafford from Blackburn Rovers for £16.5 million in the summer of 2011, said back in 2013 that Jones could be United’s “best ever player.” Bobby Charlton said the defender reminded him of the great Duncan Edwards — some comparison indeed.

But since the move, an injury-plagued career has seen him struggle to form a ‘Ferdinand-Vidic’ type partnership at the heart of the United defence.
