Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte listens as she attends a joint committee hearing of the House of Representatives in Quezon City, Philippines, November 13, 2024, investigating the war on drugs during the administration of his father former President Rodrigo Duterte

VICE-president of the Philippines Sara Duterte claimed on Saturday to have contracted an assassin to kill the president, his wife and the House of Representatives speaker if she herself is killed.

In a pre-dawn, expletive-laden online news conference, an angry Ms Duterte accused President Ferdinand Marcos Jr of incompetence and lying, along with his wife and the House speaker.

When asked by reporters about concerns over her security, the vice-president suggested there was an unspecified plot to kill her.
