SIXTY workers in Gillingham, Kent, who work for a transnational fuel systems company will launch a series of 48-hour strikes from Monday against threats to their jobs and attacks on working conditions.
Members of Unite at Phinia plan to repeat the action for the next four weeks.
The trade union said the firm wanted to abolish paid meal breaks and had threatened workers with fire and rehire.
General secretary Sharon Graham said: “Phinia is a globally recognised powerhouse thanks to its dedicated workers.
“What the company is doing is wholly immoral, and the threat to fire and rehire its workers is entirely abhorrent.
"This is all about the company seeking to further boost its profits at the expense of its employees.”
Unite regional officer Rebecca Johns-Lawrence said: “A paid lunch break was achieved through past negotiations, and Unite will simply not allow hard-won rights to be undermined by a company seeking to further bolster its bank balance.”
